For Every Therapist Who Wants More Clients

Dear Desperately-Seeking-More-Clients,

There are hundreds of therapists who are eager to send clients your way starting… yesterday! They are full. Overfull. One of their biggest pains is when they have to tell someone who calls them for services, “try looking on Psychology Today.”

They feel guilty when they have to do that. Someone who had the gumption to reach out for help is not getting any help at all.

That person might as well have just googled “therapist in my city” or thrown a pin at the map to achieve the same results!

Here’s the reality: therapists with full practices FEEL GOOD when they can provide a quality referral and they FEEL BAD when they can’t.

If you have more capacity, you can get full by tapping into this one gigantic resource with relatively little effort:

Other therapists.

Make it easy for other therapists to like, know, and trust you.

Here’s how to do it:

Step One: Recognize that therapists who are full don’t have the time to browse the internet, find you, reach out, ask you what it is you do, get a feel for your personality, experience, and the level of care you provide, much less actually stay in touch with you...

...But you have the ability to do that to them.

Step Two: Let this sink in. If you want to have 18 clients a week but currently only have 5, you have 13 hours a week to build relationships.

Step Three: Which means you have two important questions to ask yourself:

How can these busy therapists with full practices get to know me?

How can I make building a relationship with me as easy as possible for them?

Step Four: Answer those questions and then take action. That’s right! Make sure other therapists who have a full practice get to know you -- and make sure it’s as easy as possible for them to do so.

I’m writing about this because it’s literally one of the easiest problems to solve that I’ve ever witnessed -- and yet it KEEPS coming up among providers I speak to. There are therapists struggling with too many clients and no one to refer to while other therapists have no clients. Fix it and wind up with a full practice.

And whether you’re struggling to handle the client load you already have, or you don’t have enough clients to fill your roster, I have an amazing solution for you. Schedule a time for us to chat, and I’ll walk you through my 3-step process so you can triple your impact and income in the next year.
